When news broke that the IRS was investigating potential wrongdoing by then-Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter, some Republicans were quick to call for impeachment.
Now, one of those Republicans is saying that the IRS scandal is just the “tip of the iceberg” and that there is more to come.
In an interview with Newsmax, Representative Louie Gohmert of Texas said that he believes there is “a lot more” to the story than what has been reported so far.
Gohmert pointed to the recent revelation that Hunter Biden’s laptop may have contained evidence of email correspondence between he and his father regarding his business dealings in China as further proof that there is more to the story.
The Republican lawmaker also claimed that there is “direct evidence” of collusion between the Chinese government and the Biden family, though he did not provide any specifics.
Finally, Gohmert accused Democrats of hypocrisy for their handling of the impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump. He claimed that Democrats “weaponized” the impeachment process and that they are now “scared to death” of the potential consequences of moving forward with impeachment proceedings against Biden.
Only time will tell if Gohmert’s claims have merit, but with the release of more information about the Biden family’s dealings, it is clear that this story is far from over.
